Job Title: Assistant Manager
Reporting to: General Manager
Hours: 40 per week
Salary: £32,445k , + Annual Bonus,

Job Purpose:
To assist the General Manager in the day to day running of the business, taking a lead in managing in the absence of the general manager
To work as a team with the other Assistant Manager and as part of the Senior Management of the pub
To provide excellent customer service to our customers by serving drinks to Ivy House specifications and by taking food orders from customers in a warm and genuine manner, whilst ensuring that the correct payment is received.
To supervise, direct and motivate the team, working closely with the General manager, Events Manager and Kitchen Team to help provide the best offering possible
To undertake other duties as directed by the General Manager
In the absence of the General Manager the post holder will attend Management Committee meetings and provide reports/updates as required
Duties and responsibilities:
To ensure that the business operates within all its legal and agreed conditions (licencing, H&S, opening times etc)
To oversee and authorise the sales of alcohol during your shift
To provide excellent customer service and make customers feel welcome and valued
To develop a good rapport with customers and proactively anticipate their needs
To develop good working relationships with your colleagues and ensure all staff are trained and competent
Demonstrate company values, (time keeping, service standards, etc) and lead by example to the rest of team
Stock management and rotation - including ordering, cellar management, ensuring the correct recording of stock via delivery reports and monitoring of wastage sheets
Helping the GM grow the business and ensure quality and profitability in the pubs offerings
To ensure compliance with licensing laws, security arrangements, HACCP documentation, Food hygiene, Health and Safety regulations at all times, identifying and reporting of any defects, hazards and incidents and then helping solve any issues. As well as helping the General Manager by leading on training staff in health and safety and keeping the business’s policies up to date
Liaise with general manager and contractors to ensure all building maintenance follows correct practices and procedures
In depth understanding of business till system (Tabology) and all other IT systems used (Rotaready, DoJo)
Maintaining the pub’s public profile and positive relationship with neighbours and community
Take an active role and lead in all meetings
Carry out any other duties and task as directed by the General Manger
Keep a professional attitude in regards of following directions from management, giving directions to the team and show respect for the viewpoints of others in the team
Management responsibilities for Supervisors and bar staff as delegated by the General Manager
